Dodge Carmichael Fire Engine

NHH855W

NHH 855W is a Carmichael bodied Dodge 100 series vehicle, ex Cumbria Fire Service.

Years of being stood in the open had taken its toll on the paintwork and the aluminium roller doors on the side & rear lockers. The bodywork is generally in excellent condition, with only a couple of places showing signs of rot.

On the roof should be three ladders, but there is only a roof ladder present. In the lockers are many of the items of kit for putting out fires. Hose reels, standpipes, connectors, suction strainers, beaters, helmets and a portable petrol powered pump. The water pump is out of action. This pump is selected by a drive from the main gearbox. At the back of the engine is a throttle control and pump option selectors. All seems to work, except that a hand sized section of the water pump chamber casting appears to have been blown out. We still have this piece of metal so a repair should be possible.
